Stassia walked into Agape in 2019 when she was pregnant with her first child. She knew that she needed to learn more about being a mom and taking care of her baby. She was so excited to hear that the classes were going to offer credits to earn supplies, furniture, car seats, and the necessities to be prepared for her new baby.
Over the last three years of supporting Stassia, she has shared more of her story. Stassia didn’t have any easy life. She was born into a home that was under the cloud of drug addiction. She has experienced first-hand a life of insecurity… BUT there was someone in her life that showed her a different way of living, her grandma. Her grandmother loved her, provided for her the best that she could, and most importantly told her about Jesus Christ. Stassia says that it wasn’t and hasn’t always been easy! But amidst the financial struggles and the hard times, Stassia witnessed a strong role model that is giving, loving, supportive, loyal, and brave.
Stassia and her husband now have 2 beautiful children. Through the last 3 years, the team at Agape has seen Stassia’s unwavering desire to continue to learn and grow in her parenting skills and her walk with the Lord. She would tell you that life still hasn’t been easy. Finances are still very tight, as she has chosen to be a stay-at-home mother. Stassia has been faithful, resolute, determined, and dedicated to her family and her personal growth through all the obstacles that she and her husband have faced.
Stassia’s encouragement to anyone reading this story is: “Just because you were raised a certain way, doesn’t mean that you have to have that kind of a life. You can choose to be different…you can choose to be the parent that you always wanted.”
