AGAPE provides free pregnancy services in Des Moines and Indianola, Iowa.
Educational Classes
Parenting and personal development classes will be tailored and individualized to cover a variety of topics from pregnancy, early childhood, personal development, and finances. Every in-person class earns credit toward baby supplies, clothing, or pantry items.
Life Coaching
Through a personal assessment based on 10 key categories, every individual will be equipped and empowered to meet their personal goals and parent well. Life Coaching services allow individuals to earn credit toward baby supplies, clothing, or pantry items.
Online Support
Parenting and personal development classes can be completed via an online portal. We will tailor and individualize each session to cover a variety of topics from pregnancy, early childhood, personal development, and finances. Every online class earns credit toward baby supplies, clothing, or pantry items.

Pregnancy Tests
Think you’re pregnant? AGAPE is a place you can come to process everything. We provide pregnancy testing free of charge. You will receive the results during your appointment. Schedule an appointment today.
Ultrasounds
It is important to have an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy and find out the gestational age (how far along the pregnancy is) to know all of your options. We are able to provide on-site ultrasounds at no charge to you. Ultrasounds are scheduled after your initial pregnancy test appointment.
STD Tests
Curious about how STDs are contracted? Our team can answer your questions on how to avoid infection. Agape provides testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis at no charge to you.
Options Counseling
Individuals finding themselves newly pregnant are encouraged to call in to talk through options, received needed support, and find out the services that we can provide you throughout your pregnancy and beyond. Our staff is available to listen to every individual’s story and offer help and hope.
Individual and Group Classes
We support you with ongoing parenting classes that are designed to fit your busy schedule. Topics range from baby basics to discipline issues and more.
When should I take these classes?
Anytime! These classes are designed to help you throughout the beginning stages of your pregnancy all the way through the early years of your child’s life.
Who can take the class?
Anyone, both moms and dads are welcome!
What are Agape bucks and how can I earn them?
AGAPE bucks may be spent in the Agape Store for items such as diapers, wipes, clothing, car seats, pack n plays, and more. Earn AGAPE bucks for each class you attend.

Earn Baby Items and Hygiene Pantry Items
AGAPE’s parenting classes are a great way to prepare for the arrival of your child while getting the baby and hygiene items you will need to take care of the baby, while having the items provided to keep a clean and safe home!
Fatherhood Support
We are here for you. We can provide information and support to specifically address your needs and issues as a man and a father. Talking with our Fatherhood Program Director always provides clarity. With him, there is no topic off limits. He is here to walk life with you and support you in your future!
Adoption Services
From 1985-2011, adoption services were performed at AGAPE. As of December 2020, Lutheran Family Services is supporting all past adoptees and birth parents of AGAPE. Therefore, all available records are now being supported through Lutheran Family Services with the goal of providing search and reunion to past clients of AGAPE’s adoption program. To inquire about a past adoption, please call LFS at (515) 251-4900.
