No Longer Alone

Day 1

No Longer Alone

By Leanna Simpson
Psalm 139:13 – For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

She walked through the doors of AGAPE trembling. Although the summer sun was shining brightly outside, she shook as if it were a winter day in Iowa. She could barely get the words out of her parched lips: “I am here for an appointment.” The tears started to glisten in her eyes, as a single tear made its way down her cheek.

Within the room, she shared the mess of her life. No one to love her or lean on, no means to provide, no friend to confide in… alone and now pregnant. Despite her limited support, she chose life for her child. From the moment of her baby’s first cry… her world was forever changed.

Thousands of years ago, God had been silent for 400 years. No one within Israel had experienced an encounter with their God for generations. “Was God even real?” they wondered. Did He hear their cries? They had become convinced that they were alone.

Then, in a small town, a multitude of the heavenly host appeared to those of low standing, a group of shepherds. Supernatural, angelic beings filled the sky in all directions… the silence had been broken. An immediate reality shift… no longer alone, no longer without hope. A message had been given and received in a life-altering way. In that moment, their world was changed forever.

In her story, in the shepherds’ story, and in your story, He is there. You are not alone.  There is HOPE, and His name is Jesus.
