Many places serving the same clients as AGAPE focus almost entirely on the woman \u2014 her choice<\/i>, her next step. That matters in a way that\u2019s central to everything we do, but it\u2019s not the whole story.<\/p>\n
In conversations around pregnancy, men are often treated as background characters: present, but not central. They\u2019re expected to either step up or fade out of the picture.<\/p>\n
But what we know to be true is that men are essential leaders in pregnancy decisions.<\/p>\n
Studies show that a father\u2019s involvement, including emotional and practical support, significantly shapes whether a woman continues or ends a pregnancy.<\/p>\n
Many of the men connected to the women we serve are navigating their own uncertainty. Some didn\u2019t grow up with a model of what it means to be a father. Some are carrying their own stories of instability, absence, or pain. And many of them, if they\u2019re honest, feel completely unprepared for what\u2019s in front of them.<\/p>\n
Yet they matter. Not just in theory, but in the everyday reality of what happens next for the family.<\/p>\n
I remember sitting with a young couple, Marcus and Tiana<\/i>,* not long ago. Tiana came in first, overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. A few appointments in, Marcus started coming with her.<\/p>\n
At first, he didn\u2019t say much. He sat quietly, listening, trying to take it all in. But over time, something began to shift. As our fatherhood director made space for him \u2014 not as an afterthought, but as someone we genuinely wanted to know \u2014 he started to engage.<\/p>\n
He asked questions.
\nHe opened up about his fears.
\nHe began to talk about the kind of father he wanted to be, even though he wasn\u2019t sure how to get there.<\/p>\n
And that\u2019s where the work really began.<\/p>\n
This is why Fatherhood is not an \u201cextra\u201d for us at AGAPE. It\u2019s essential.<\/p>\n
Because when a father is engaged, supported, and growing, it changes the trajectory of a family. It brings stability where there might otherwise be an absence. It brings presence where there might otherwise be distance.<\/p>\n
But even more than that, it speaks to something deeper.<\/p>\n
It speaks to a fundamental sense of identity for these young men.<\/p>\n
And for many of the men we meet, stepping into fatherhood is not just about learning skills or gaining information; it\u2019s about beginning to see themselves differently. Not as someone on the outside of the story, but as someone who has been entrusted with something meaningful.<\/p>\n
And again, this is where our faith shapes everything we do.<\/p>\n
Scripture shows us a God who reveals Himself as our Father. Not distant, not disengaged, but present, consistent, and faithful. A Father who pursues, who provides, who restores.<\/p>\n
For men who have never experienced that kind of fatherhood, or who feel like they\u2019ve already fallen short, that truth matters.<\/p>\n
It means their story isn\u2019t defined by what they\u2019ve seen or what they\u2019ve done.
\nIt means there is an invitation to grow, to step in, and to become something new.<\/p>\n
At AGAPE, we have the privilege of walking with them in that process.<\/p>\n
Meeting people where they are means providing help and hope to young women experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. That\u2019s often where the story begins, but it doesn\u2019t end there.<\/p>\n
And when we choose to invest in him \u2014 to see him, to support him, to call him forward \u2014 we\u2019re not just impacting one person. We\u2019re strengthening an entire family.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the work in front of us.<\/p>\n
Not just responding to a moment, but helping shape what comes next.<\/p>\n
For moms.

\nFor the families they\u2019re becoming.<\/p>\n
